Presenting Data Visually

A Chart represents data as symbols: bars, lines or slices of a pie. The data can be tabular (rows and columns in a table), functions (a collection of all ordered pairs, or curve mapping) or structural.

People read charts better than they read columns of data. A chart should tell the story of this data as quickly a possible without a lot of distractions. This lesson demonstrates how to create and format a Chart with the Chart Tools (Chart Layout and Chart Design) so that the data is easy to figure out and understand.
