Calculating the Date

Many businesses need to calculate the difference between the current date and the date on the transaction. For example, a movie rental business may charge more if the movie is returned 3 days late.

Microsoft Excel has a function called NETWORKDAYS.

1. Before Your Begin: Enter the Date

Select Cell G1 and type: Today's Date

Select Cell G2 and type: July, 1, 2011.

Copy and Paste Cell G2 to G58 (all of the Rows in this example)

What Do You See? In this example every Cell in Column G has the same date: July 1, 2011.
