Lesson: Mice and Men
Before You Begin:
Start Microsoft Word 2010.
You should see a new, blank document.
Try This: Do the following steps
1. Type: January. Watch for the AutoText and click ENTER
on the keyboard to insert the word.
2. Type: Monday. Watch for the AutoText and click ENTER on the keyboard
to insert the word.
3. Type (tm). Watch for the AutoText convert the text into the symbol
for trademark.
4. Type (c). Watch for the AutoText convert the text into the symbol for
copyright.
5. Go to File->Options-> Proofing. Click on AutoCorrect Options.
6. Go to Math AutoCorrect.
7. Select Use Math AutoCorrect rules outside of math regions. Close the
AutoCorrect window.
8. Type: \approx. Watch for the AutoText convert the text into the
symbol for approximate.
9. Go to Insert->Symbol. Click on the Copyright symbol.
10. Go to Insert->Symbol. Click on the Trademark symbol.
11. Go to Insert->Equation. Click on Pythagorean Theorem
12. Close Microsoft Word. When you are prompted, click Don't Save.
