Show/Hide
All word processors are text based. Think of the
old-fashioned electric typewriters. If you wanted your name by the
signature, you had to enter enough blank lines to get down to the bottom
of the letter.
When you select Show/Hide, Word displays the
formatting codes. Notice, each time you hit the Enter key on the
keyboard, you have a new blank line. When you are working with Microsoft
Word, the text is anchored to a line, just like a typewriter.
4. Try it: Proof the Paragraphs
Go to the Home Ribbon
Find the Paragraph Group
Click on the Show/Hide option
Delete the extra blank lines
There should be only one paragraph mark, or blank line,
between the paragraphs. When you are done, you can turn off the
Show/Hide option.
