Working with Macros
A Macro
is a series of steps that can be recorded and played back in order. A
Macro can be created by recording your menu selections and clicks. There
are several kinds of Macros, depending on the purpose and the actions.
An Event Macro does something when you click on a button or a
cell. A User-Defined Macro is programming that makes the computer
do the work.
My mentor, Fr.
Paul, wrote a financial database. He watched the church staff go through
the process to create a new check entry: 8 steps. Count them again: 8
steps. So, he created a Macro that walked through the menus
automatically.
That's what
Macros do: simplify the task.
