Prepare to Share
Before You Begin:
Start Microsoft Word 2010.
You should see a new, blank document.
Try This: Do the following steps
1. Copy the following text into a blank
document:
Mary had a liddle lam
its fleas was white as snough
Every wear that Mary
when, the lam was sure to go
2. Use the spell check tool and correct
liddle and snough
3. Use the Thesaurus to look up a synonym
for go
4. Use the Thesaurus to look up an antonym
for white
5. Use the Reference tool to look up the
meaning of the word lam
6. Select the word wear and use the New
Comment command to add the comment “Wrong wear, should be where.”
7. Select the word Mary and add the Comment
“Mary Smith.”
8. Turn on Track Changes
9. Correct the text as follows:
Replace the word lam
with lamb both times
Replace the word fleas
with fleece
Add a period after snow
Replace the word wear
with where
Replace the word when
with went
Replace the word lamb
Replace the word sure
with shore
Delete the comment
“Wrong wear, should be where.”
10. Reject the change shore so that it
returns to sure. Accept ALL changes in the document.
11.
Inspect the document and remove all
personal information and comments from the document. Mark the document
as Final.
12. Save your work
as Prepare to Share Practice Activities.
